Story
The Eiffel Tower originally appeared for a temporary event which is the Universal Exhibition of 1889 (this date marked the centenary of the French Revolution), work began in 1887 and after 2 years, 2 months and 5 days, the Eiffel Tower was completed.
The Eiffel Tower is 7,300 tons of iron, 2.5 million rivets, 60 tons of paint, 5 elevators.
At a height of 312 meters, it now serves as a transmitter for radio and television. The second level of the 3rd floor is located at 279.11 meters. It is the highest observation platform in the European Union. The Eiffel Tower has been listed since June 24, 1964 as a historical monument and since 1991 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The first floor
It is located at 57 meters and has an area of 4,220m2, it allows you to have a 360° view of Paris thanks to its circular gallery.
The name of 72 French scientists from the 18th and 19th centuries (Foucault, Daguerre, Schneider, Bichat, etc.) is inscribed on the outside
On this floor, you will find a section of the spiral staircase which originally led to the top but which was dismantled and cut into 22 parts and sold at auction.
You can also take a break at the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant with its view of all of Paris.
The second floor
It is located 115 meters and has an area of 1,650 square meters. This is where you will have the best view of all of Paris.
The floor in which there are portholes, allows you to have a view of the ground under your feet.
The famous Le Jules Verne restaurant with 1 Michelin star and 3 Gault et Millau toques is currently run by Chef Frédéric Anton.
The third floor
It is located at 276 meters and has an area of 350 square meters.
You can only access this floor by elevator. Then by climbing a few steps you will reach the outdoor platform, which can sometimes be called the 4th floor, located at 279 meters.
A reconstruction of Gustave Eiffel's office receiving Thomas Edison is present on this floor.
At the very top of the Tower, there is a television mast which currently has more than 115 TV and radio broadcasting antennas.
Eiffel Tower illuminations
The Eiffel Tower regularly uses its lights. The lighthouse, located at the very top, was restored for the transition to the year 2000 accompanied by a system of more than 20,000 flashes which came to be added to the present lighting.

Here is a tip for not missing one of the most beautiful outdoor shows you will see in Paris, the twinkling of the Eiffel Tower:
- At noon and for 10 minutes
- From dusk until 1am in addition to the usual lighting, the first 5 minutes of the passage of each hour.
- At 1 a.m. only the 20,000 flashes will sparkle as the finale of this daily spectacle.

2nd floor lift ticket: gives you access to the second floor using the lift.
Summit lift ticket: gives you access to the summit by using a first and then a second lift.

Reduced rates apply upon presentation of proof.
Children under 4 years old must be in possession of a free ticket. Their companions pay the individual adult rate.
Only available on site. The RSA rate is applied to beneficiaries holding a CAF certificate dated less than 6 months and to other beneficiaries mentioned in the supporting document (other beneficiary, dependent children). The proof and identity card of all the beneficiaries must be presented when purchasing at the checkout.
PLEASE NOTE: Access to the Summit and access by stairs are not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
